Jameswinston Co. S-Brief
Reviewed by: turnipHed Undies Drawer Blog
A couple weeks ago a nice package wrapped in brown paper arrived at my door and when I opened it up I found a sexy pair of the Jameswinston Co. S-Briefs, in Tzar colour, in there. I immediately had to take them out of the packaging and give them a good look-see.
It did not take long for me to jump my butt into them; however, I first gave them a good look over because the first thing that caught my eye was the intensive stitching. Not only was the contrast eye-appealing but it was clear that great attention was paid to the construction of these briefs.
At first feel it was very clear that this 92% Ribbed Cotton and 8% Elastane blend was super light weight but strong. I could also see that the ProFIL pouch was designed to support and highlight.
What is ProFIL Panel PLUS?
New ‘2 way wear’ ProFIL Panel PLUS TM (pron. Profile) is our next generation of front panels designed for asset enhancement.
This time the double-layered front panel is cut to allow not one, but two ways in which you can wear your garment. i.e.
1) Pull pant on as normal and you’ll notice our ‘better than normal ’ enhancement qualities or
2) Place your (insert pet name) directly in front to find yourself held in our ‘MAX Out’ TM position.
No straps, no cups. Just ‘super’ natural asset projection - to suit your mood!
As mentioned on the site, this brief does offer you excellent moisture absorption and I did put them to the test by wearing them and sweating as much as I could.
Yup, they did the job and with the Elastane the S-Brief did not warp out of shape. I got the same support at the end of the day as I did when I put them on in the morning.
Now while the size I got, Large (34-36), is what I would choose from a menu based on the fact that I wear a 34-36 jean, after wearing these, while still a great pair that will always be close to the top of my undie pile to wear, I would like to try the Medium (31-33).
The reason I want to try the mediums out is to see if they would offer me a snugger fit should I need a bit of extra support for working out, jogging and stuff like that.
'S' and Petit-brief :- These ranges are cut 'true to size' and designed to fit 'comfortably' at your waist size (see [size] guide). Please select the size DOWN in both fabrics should you prefer a 'very close' fit.
What I noticed when wearing these was that I did not notice the undies at all and at the same time I was not flopping around. I was held in place without any pressure at all anywhere.
These briefs are also a very low rise cut, so if you do like to hide your undies when you lift your arms and your shirt rises or when you bend over, then these are a good option.
If you prefer to show off some undie waistband, these might not be the ones for you unless you like to wear your pants really low.
The Jameswinston Co. S-Briefs comes in 5 different colours, all of which are really appealing and sexy, Caspian, Darkwood, Moor, Tusk Ivory and Tzar.
The S-Brief is priced at £13.50, which could be a little bit on the pricey side for some; however, do take this into consideration, these briefs with the moisture absorption I talked about above I think would make these undies a great versatile brief for the office and then the gym.
MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Jameswinston Co. S-Briefs a strong 9.5 out of 10 based on the following criteria. The only reason the Fit scored an 8 is because as I mentioned above I want to see how the smaller size fits and then compare.
FIT -- 8 (out of 10)
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 10 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 10 (out of 10)
Johnny Underscore Reviews the Jameswinston Co. Petit-Brief Undies Drawer Blog
The Jameswinston Co. petit-brief is the "it brief" for 2008. Hands down.
At the end of the day, fit is about the most important consideration when it comes to men's underwear. Because most of us spend most of the day aware of our underwear but unable to see it, if it fits comfortably, feels good and provides the proper support, it's doing the job. If, at the end of the day, you take off your pants to reveal an impressive design (or an impressive package), then your underwear gets extra credit.
"'Less is more' is the mantra behind our micro brief," reads the packaging. The Jameswinston Co. petit brief is light on coverage but heavy on both style and function. Underwear, especially briefs, should fit well and be neither baggy nor constricting.
These micro briefs really do wear like they do on the models. Really.
The ProFIL Panel PLUS (tm) is Jameswinston Co.'s original, specially cut, double-layered front panel designed for greater 'asset' room and shape than normal undergarments. It's really a surprisingly comfortable yet genuinely effective enhancing effect when you go out on the town - especially as they say 'when you place your 'favourite friend' directly in front'. Just pull on as normal for a more modest look while you're at work. What is certain is you'll be comfortable all day long in these these briefs!
As the name suggests, these are micro briefs. "The Petit-brief is simply intended to be the best fitting ‘micro’ out there," reads a press release from Jameswinston Co.
True to size, they do fit brilliantly but they're still proper briefs with full coverage in the rear and a very low (read: trim-worthy) rise in the front. The sides are about 1 inch wide. The fabric is a very soft, lightly ribbed cotton/elastine blend. Breaking from the current trend in men's underwear design and made to make the male form the main attraction, these micro briefs have an understated waistband. An embossed Jameswinston Co. "J" logo is stitched onto the left hip. Another logo is stitched below the waistband in the rear.
The size and care tags inside the briefs are imperceptible, which is a good thing.
The Jameswinston Co. petit-brief is available in Caspian (almost an aqua blue), Tusk Ivory (off white), Moor (gray green), Tzar (red wine) and Darkwood (a dark purple). For such a small garment, they're pricey at £12.50 but for this level of construction, function and design they're well worth it.
MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Jameswinston Co. petit-brief a total score of 10 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 10 (out of 10)
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 10(out of 10)
VALUE -- 10 (out of 10)
